The City of Greensboro’s Housing and Neighborhood Development Department ended its Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) this fall. The program began in 2021 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was funded by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to help renters with financial difficulties. During the program, more than $19 million in federal funds went to 3,313 households in Greensboro. This assistance helped residents avoid eviction and keep their housing.
