Man sentenced to 15-19 years after 2020 homicide in Winston-Salem

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A man will spend years in prison after pleading guilty to the 2020 shooting death of a man in Winston-Salem.

According to the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office, on Thursday, Javaris Terrell Robbins, 26, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.

On May 31, 2020, around 2 a.m., the Winston-Salem Police Department received around 15 911 calls about a shooting on Charleston Court. At the scene, they found Phillip Tyrone Legette, 21, who had been shot in the head and the neck. EMS pronounced him dead after arriving on the scene…
