Man wanted after wrong-way pursuit in Winston-Salem taken into custody, facing 20+ counts, police say

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A man who was wanted in connection to a wrong-way police chase in the Piedmont Triad has been arrested and is now facing over 20 charges.

On the evening of Nov. 5, police attempted to pull over Kalab Christopher Evans, 26, due to outstanding warrants. Police say that he hit a patrol car and drove away, initiating a chase that began in the area of North Liberty Street and 14th Street.

The chase went north through the city, looping back around into downtown Winston-Salem. Out of safety concerns, police stopped chasing the suspect, who went on to hit someone else’s vehicle on 1st Street. The person in that car was not injured…
