Man accused of killing Greensboro woman he was previously charged with strangling appears in court

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A man who was charged with murder in the death of a woman he was previously accused of assaulting appeared in court on Wednesday.

Brian Bigelow, 41, was charged Monday with kidnapping and first-degree murder in connection with the death of Katrina Ann Viers, 40, after she was found at a home on Mayfair Avenue just after midnight with trauma to her face and head. She was taken to the hospital and died from her injuries.

Court records show that Bigelow had been charged with felony strangulation and domestic violence on Aug. 22 of this year. Viers was named as the victim in the incident, and the report describes her injuries and states that Viers accused Bigelow of hitting her in the eye.
