Windy, highs in upper 60s Sunday in the Piedmont Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Although temperatures will drop a couple of degrees, the last half of our weekend is going to be just as delightful as the first.

A cold front will be moving through the area and will drop our temperatures to the upper 60s to near 70 on Sunday, but we should see lots of sunshine in the afternoon. Gusty winds on Sunday could pose some issues with the dry stretch of weather that we have had, combined with lower humidity, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a fire weather watch from 11 AM on Sunday until 6 PM. All outdoor burning should be avoided to prevent any dangerous spread of fire or embers. Wind gusts on Sunday can reach as high as 25 to 30 mph.

As cooler air really sets in behind that front, temperatures on Monday will drop to near 60, but we will still have plenty of sunshine. As we move throughout the week, temperatures will eventually warm back to 70°, which will be above average for this time of year…
