Cold morning, high of 60 on Monday in the Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Temperatures will be much cooler than yesterday, when highs reached the mid-70s. Today, high temperatures will barely warm up to normal, which is 60 degrees. At least we can enjoy sunny skies all day and clear skies overnight. Lows will dip into the mid-30s by daybreak tomorrow morning.

High pressure will drift across Virginia and into the northeastern corner of North Carolina on Tuesday. We are expecting mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and slightly milder temperatures, topping out in the mid-60s.

Tuesday night, a warm front is going to sweep across the state from west to east. This will start a warming trend that endures for the rest of the work week.  Highs will rise to the lower-70s Monday through Friday with partly cloudy skies until late Friday.

An approaching low-pressure system is forecast to close in on the Carolinas Friday night into Saturday. This will bring a 50% to 60% chance of rain to the Piedmont during that time frame and slightly cooler weather for the upcoming weekend.

Highs will hover in the mid-to-upper-60s Saturday and Sunday. We will have partly cloudy skies on Sunday afternoon…
