‘Thanksgiving was not easy’ | Family of 22-year-old killed in Greensboro shooting speaks after suspect’s arrest

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The family of 22-year-old Mircedezes Edwards says they are grateful an arrest has been made — though the news brings little comfort — as they continue to grieve her death from an October shooting on New Garden Road in Greensboro.

Edwards was shot and killed on Oct. 17 in the 1900 block of New Garden Road. Officers responded around 10:25 p.m. and found her unresponsive. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but she died at the scene. Police initially described the shooting as accidental.

On Monday, Greensboro police announced they have charged Jordan Marks, 22, with second-degree murder in Edwards’ death…
