On December 1, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at Old NC Hwy 13 and US 220 Alt. in Asheboro. During the stop, deputies reported finding Crystal Turner Smith, 35, and Ricky Leon Small, Jr., 40, in possession of suspected illegal substances and paraphernalia.
Both individuals were arrested and taken to the Randolph County Detention Center. Smith was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, several counts of misdemeanor drug and marijuana paraphernalia possession, and served with outstanding arrest orders.
Her bond was set at $25,000 secured. Small was charged with misdemeanor carrying a concealed gun, drug paraphernalia possession, and a registration plate violation. He also received outstanding arrest orders and an $8,500 bond…
