On December 3, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Asheboro Police Department in stopping a speeding vehicle on I-73 south of Dixie Drive. The driver was identified as 19-year-old Jayvion Davis Morgan from Bennettsville, South Carolina. Morgan did not stop and led deputies on a pursuit. The chase ended near exit 68 when Morgan lost control of the vehicle. He then tried to flee on foot but was apprehended.
Morgan was arrested and taken to the Randolph County Detention Center. He faces several charges, including felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, misdemeanor no operator’s license, speeding, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane control, and unsafe movement.
