GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro grandmother is getting the gift of warmth just in time for winter thanks to a local company’s annual charity effort.
Berico, a longtime HVAC and fuel provider in the Triad, surprised customer Debbie Britton with a full HVAC replacement this week after learning her system had completely failed. Britton, who has been a Berico customer since 2005, lives with her widowed daughter and six grandchildren. The family had been living without heat as their aging unit continued to deteriorate.
“I’m overwhelmed. I still can’t believe it,” Britton said. “Knowing that I don’t have to pay for it, this is the best Christmas gift I could have received.”…
