GREENSBORO, N.C. — Another chance for snow is heading our way. Cold air will be here on Monday and a mix of rain and snow showers are likely to set up during the morning. By the midday and afternoon, they’re likely to change to mainly snow showers.
Accumulation is possible on the grassy areas. Slick spots on the roads are less clear. Our WFMY Weather team is tracking it for you.
What’s the timing?
Monday morning will start out dry. By the mid-morning hours some moisture is likely to move our way with some rain and snow showers possible. For the middle of the day and the afternoon more cold air will be around and scattered snow showers are more likely.
- Overnight – Monday Morning: Dry weather and cold
- 7am-11am: Scattered rain and snow showers move in
- 11am-3pm: Wet snow showers scattered. Accumulation possible.
- 3pm – 6pm: Scattered snow showers taper off. Roads may be slick.
- 6pm – 6am: Watch for black ice or slick spots on roads
Will it snow?
- Snow is not a guarantee.
- The odds of snowflakes falling in the air are pretty high for our area on Monday.
- The odds of snow sticking to the grass a pretty good.
- The odds of snow sticking to the roads is lower, but still something we should watch.
How much could we see?
In general, light amounts of snow are likely. Anywhere from a trace coating on the grass to as much as an inch is possible.
Remember, with temperatures right around freezing and just above and daytime timing that can make snow accumulation difficult.
