Greensboro crews address snow, businesses work through weather

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Greensboro officials say after a day of on-and-off flurries, crews have salted the sidewalks and crosswalks and salted the bridges in anticipation of the wet roads freezing overnight.

Transportation Director Hanna Cockburn says the City of Greensboro is running snow emergency operations. That entails crews working 12-hour shifts back to back throughout the impacts of the snow.

“We have had crews out observing conditions and addressing any locations where we have known repetitive problems. We’ve been closely monitoring the temperature. Our crews will be out on the roads, especially in locations where we have bridges or other elevated structures to provide additional support over the nighttime hours and into tomorrow,” Cockburn said…
