Fire damages two-story home in Walnut Cove | Occupant escapes safely, officials say

WALNUT COVE, N.C. — A two-story home on Rosebud Road was heavily damaged in a fire Saturday, but the occupant escaped safely, Walnut Cove Fire & Rescue said.

Stokes County 911 dispatched South Stokes, Salem Chapel, and Belews Creek fire departments to the scene.

When Walnut Cove firefighters arrived, they reported heavy dark smoke visible from their station, flames consuming the rear of the house, and a leaking propane tank on the property. Crews also battled a grass fire on the property, officials said…
