Family continues calls for answers 9 years after unsolved Christmas Eve murder in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — Christmas Eve will mark nine years since a 19-year-old father was shot and killed in his family’s Winston-Salem home. While much has changed over that period, to the family of Tre Brannon, time has – in many ways – stood still.

“My oldest son’s birthday is Christmas Eve,” said Tre’s mother, Angela Brannon. “My middle son died on Christmas Eve.”

As Brannon explains, the family celebrated the Christmas holiday on Dec. 22, 2016. That night, Tre and his older brother went out to “bring in” her eldest son’s birthday. After his return home, around three in the morning, there was a knock at the door…
