Food truck owner teaches Graham High School students about entrepreneurship

GRAHAM, N.C. (WGHP) — Sometimes, the best lessons in life are learned from those who have been through some challenges and succeeded.

That’s why Career and Technical Education teachers at Graham High School are bringing in guests from the community to talk with the students about their journey into entrepreneurship, like Jaidale Slade, owner of the I Love Lemonade Food Truck.“I started from a table in a tent. Small setup. I was selling my lemonade event to event, city to city, and eventually I got the food truck so we could pair some food with my lemonade,” Slade says.

Triad teaching duo instills love of learning in students

“It gives the students an opportunity to think of themselves being in this particular role and going that route and they might not have thought of that opportunity before,” Powell says.They will take what they learned from their guest back to the classroom to explore even further.“It’s great for them to further expand their knowledge and then make connections to the things that are taught in business education. And then also for them to think for themselves, ‘Is this a possibility for me? Is this something I already know about, or I had no idea about this before?’ So I think this is great for them.”…
