Sunshine to return mid-morning Friday after strong winds, rain sweep through Central NC

A squall line capable of producing gusty winds up to 60 mph is moving through Central North Carolina Friday morning ahead of a cold front.

The front will bring gusty rains, but sunshine is expected to return mid-morning as the system clears out.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for several counties, including Alamance, Chatham, Montgomery, Moore, Orange, Durham, and Randolph counties. All alerts have since expired.

Winds will remain strong throughout the day, with gusts of 30 to 40 mph possible. These winds could lead to isolated downed trees and spotty power outages…
