GREENSBORO, N.C. — Cone Health has named Dr. Paul Krakovitz as its next chief executive officer following a nationwide search, the health system announced Tuesday. Krakovitz will assume the role on March 16, 2026.
Krakovitz brings more than two decades of leadership experience at nationally recognized health systems. His last health care job was as Desert Region president and senior vice president for Intermountain Health, where he oversaw the region’s expansion to include three acute-care hospitals, 130 care sites, more than 1,000 physicians and advanced practice providers, and 8,500 caregivers.
Before that, Krakovitz held several leadership roles at Intermountain Health, including chief medical officer and vice president of specialty-based care.
