(WGHP) — We now have a new record for the warmest Christmas Day on record in the Piedmont Triad. Afternoon highs reached 75° around 2 p.m., breaking the previous record of 74° set in 2015 and 1955.
Temperatures remain warm this evening, with many falling into the low 60s by 8 p.m. Skies will remain partly to mostly cloudy through the evening hours, with more clouds rolling in overnight into Friday morning. A backdoor cold front moves in for our Friday, which will bring a big drop in temperatures.
