More than six years after skeletal human remains were discovered in a wooded area of North Carolina, the victim has been identified as a mom who disappeared, but was never reported missing, according to authorities.
On Wednesday, Dec. 31, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office announced that skeletal remains discovered by a hunter in a wooded area behind a former RV dealership in Sept. 2019 had been identified as Maria del Socorro Medina Trejo. The location was not far from the home where she lived in Winston-Salem.
In a press conference, Sgt. Chris King of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said that around the time of discovery, a forensic anthropologist determined that the bones had been exposed to the elements for 4-7 months…
