GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — New pricing for parking in downtown Greensboro took effect Jan. 2 and will be enforced through weekdays between 8 a.m. And 6 p.m.
The city says the parking price increases are to help with turnover in some of the high-traffic areas. All city surface lots now cost $2 an hour. The rate change affects four lots, from a 50-cent raise to bringing payment to a previously free lot. With this announcement, the price has changed for the Elm Street/McGee Street, Elm Street/Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, and Elm Street/Greene Street lots. The gravel South Elm Street lot at the edge of downtown now costs $3 per day.
