Fire at Burlington shopping center causes estimated $700,000 in damage, officials say

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Fire crews responded to a structure fire Sunday morning at a shopping center on St. Marks Church Road, causing an estimated $700,000 in damage, according to the Burlington Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 1145 St. Marks Church Road at 8:31 a.m. and arrived just over three minutes later to find heavy smoke coming from the front of one of the businesses in the shopping center, officials said.
