PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Mostly cloudy skies are expected for the Triad today, with some partial clearing in our mountains and foothills. After a chilly start to the day, temperatures are going to warm to the lower-50s by mid-afternoon.
Overnight, cloudy skies will provide excellent insulation, keeping overnight lows near 40 degrees.
Starting Tuesday, temperatures are going to be unseasonably warm. A low-pressure system to the west will slowly slide eastward, pushing warm air into the Piedmont for several days. Though it will be mostly cloudy, Tuesday’s highs are going to rise to the lower-60s, and that’s just the beginning! Even though a cold front is forecast to slip through the state on Wednesday, colder air will be lagging far behind the front. Highs will be in the upper-60s with dry, sunny skies.
We will have slightly cooler temperatures, in the mid-60s, on Thursday with mostly cloudy skies…
