WHITSETT, N.C. — North Carolina Governor Josh Stein and Department of Commerce Secretary Lee Lilley visited Machine Specialties, Inc. in Whitsett on Monday to celebrate North Carolina’s growing workforce and go over the state’s goals for 2026.
According to Stein, 2025 saw a record number of job announcements across the state. North Carolina was even ranked No. 1 among all states nationwide in workforce growth for 2026 by a recent national assessment by Site Selection Magazine. In the year ahead, Stein said he wants to continue to grow the economy and make sure it benefits everyone in every corner of the state.
