Officials investigate large number of dead vultures found on South Avenue in Eden

EDENTON, N.C. — Officials in Rockingham County are investigating after a large number of dead vultures were found along South Avenue in Eden, prompting precautionary measures amid concerns about possible avian influenza.

According to Eden Police Lieutenant David Stepps, officers are working alongside the city’s Public Works Department at the scene. Animal Control responded earlier, and the area of South Avenue between Bethel Street and Rickman Drive has been cordoned off as a safety measure.
