EDEN, N.C. (WGHP) — The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is investigating after several vultures were found dead in Eden.
On Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., the Rockingham County Division of Public Health received a report about the dead birds and began working with city officials and the Epidemiology Section of the NCDHHS Division of Public Health to investigate.
Authorities determined that while there are many possible causes of death, including avian influenza, also known as bird flu, testing to determine a cause of death was not recommended due to the low health risk to the public.
