WS/FCS board to open year with leadership, budget decisions at first meeting of the year

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools’ Board of Education will open the year with leadership decisions, budget adjustments and a revised loan agreement when it meets on Jan. 13.

Board members are set to elect a chair and vice chair, approve amendments to the FY2026 budget to align with actual PRC results and proper fund accounting, and consider changes to the district’s Child Nutrition loan agreement.

The loan agreement, approved June 10, 2025, allows the district to borrow up to $6 million from the WS/FCS Child Nutrition Department through June 30, 2030. The district has already borrowed $2 million during the 2025–26 school year…
