WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A juvenile is facing felony charges after deputies found a loaded handgun on campus at West Forsyth High School during a traffic stop on Monday, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the incident happened on Monday when a Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office deputy followed a vehicle onto the school campus after learning it had been reported stolen. The deputy stopped the vehicle in a parking lot, where two passengers immediately ran away on foot.
Authorities said the driver attempted to flee in the vehicle but was unable to leave due to heavy congestion in the parking lot. While the deputy was trying to remove the driver from the car, the driver allegedly assaulted the deputy and then ran from the scene…
