GREENSBORO, N.C. — Hundreds of thousands of Verizon customers across the country were impacted by a nationwide service outage on Tuesday, leaving many unable to call loved ones, conduct business, or access essential services — with little clarity on when service would be restored.
Throughout the afternoon, Verizon stores became gathering points for frustrated customers searching for information. At the Verizon location on Battleground Avenue in Greensboro, the parking lot was unusually crowded as customers came in person after being unable to get help online or by phone.
