WALNUT COVE, N.C. — Parkdale Mills will permanently close its Walnut Cove facility, eliminating 72 jobs, citing rising energy costs and an “unsustainable business model,” according to a WARN notice filed with the North Carolina Department of Commerce.
The textile manufacturer said the closure took effect Jan. 13, with employees notified that their separations will be permanent. Workers’ last day is scheduled for March 13. The plant is located at 1660 U.S. 311 North in Walnut Cove.
