Bad gas in the Triad? NC issues a Notice of Violation to a local gas station

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Did you get bad fuel from a Triad gas station? WFMY News 2 confirmed with the NC Department of Agriculture and Customer Services that customers reported two complaints at the Sunoco on Randolph Road in Thomasville on January 7, 2026.

“That prompted the Standards Division to visit the same day. Inspectors issued a Notice of Violation for pumps 1 & 2 due to the phase separation found during the inspection. Two other pumps at the station — pumps 5 and 6 — have been under a Notice of Violation since May 19, 2025. A Notice of Violation means the station must remedy the product and be reinspected,” said Jamey Cross, PIO, NCDAS& CS.
