If you get a new toy, you want to take it to school and show it off. But driving a stolen car onto high school property is asking for serious trouble. Add a handgun, and that trouble multiplies fast.
A sheriff’s deputy pulled a car over in the parking lot of West Forsyth High School when chaos broke loose. Two passengers jumped out and ran. The driver tried to floor it and flee but couldn’t get past other vehicles in the lot.
The deputy approached the driver, who got out, assaulted the police officer, and ran. The deputy detained the remaining passenger. Before the deputy could check him for weapons, a 9mm handgun fell out of the waistband of his pants. The suspect is a juvenile but still faces felony possession of a weapon on educational property.
Stolen car and multiple arrests followed
The deputy ran the plates and discovered the car had been reported stolen. Police later tracked down and arrested all of the suspects. At least one juvenile is now being held at Alexander Youth Detention Facility…
