PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — The Piedmont Triad has spent the weekend preparing for possible winter weather.
Temperatures remain above freezing until early Sunday morning, and at around daybreak, rain will begin to cool down the atmosphere and colder air will start to filter in, giving us the setup for a transition to a rain/snow mix between 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday.
As of Saturday afternoon, the most recent data suggests moisture sticks around through early Sunday afternoon when the cold air has settled in. This gives us the best window for snow showers between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Into late afternoon and early evening, a few lingering snow showers are possible before ending and skies begin to clear into Sunday night…
