Raleigh Urges Caution as Black Ice Lingers and a Winter Storm Looms Over Central North Carolina

Raleigh residents are urged to exercise caution this morning due to patchy black ice reported across Central North Carolina. The National Weather Service Raleigh NC has advised that below-freezing temperatures through mid-morning could maintain slick conditions on the roads. According to an official statement, secondary roads, as well as bridges, overpasses, and sidewalks, are particularly vulnerable, though there have been instances of black ice on main thoroughfares and interstates.

Apart from the immediate threats posed by ice, the weather outlook for the week includes an anticipated winter storm system and notably cold temperatures expected to hit over the weekend.
