High Point man wins $1 million after buying scratch-off at convenience store: ‘Always thought I would win’

HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — Jimmy Comer, of High Point, bought a $10 scratch-off and won a $1 million top prize on Sunday, according to an NC Education Lottery news release.

“I wouldn’t buy tickets if I didn’t believe I would win,” he said. “I always thought I would win.”

Comer bought his winning Cashword King ticket from Smitty’s 1 Stop on West Lexington Avenue in High Point.
