(WGHP) — A winter storm is coming to the Piedmont Triad.
Saturday morning will be cloudy and cold with temperatures in the 20s. Between Saturday afternoon and evening, snow is likely. The first flakes will be light. A mixture of snow and sleet is likely across the southern Piedmont. While surface temperatures will remain below freezing, overhead, warmer air will take over. Snow and sleet will mix with and change to sleet and freezing rain by Sunday morning.
Freezing rain with some sleet will continue into Sunday. Our precipitation will end late Sunday night. On average, two to four inches of sleet/snow accumulation is possible.
