FRANKLINVILLE, N.C. — A man was arrested Wednesday after being accused of robbery and assault, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say they were called to the 3000 block of NC Highway 22 North in Franklinville on Jan. 22 after he reportedly assaulted someone while armed. Deputies say they saw 24-year-old Hunter Lee Goforth walking away from a home who matched the description given by the caller.
According to deputies, Goforth ran away from them when they tried to approach him. He allegedly ran into the woods behind a home, beginning a brief foot chase. Deputies eventually arrested him. After searching the area with a K9, deputies located a gun they believe belonged to him in the woods…
