Triad community groups preparing to help during winter storm

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Piedmont Triad ministries serving the most vulnerable say they have prepared community members ahead of the storm and are ready to house those who are need through the cold weather.

Open Door Ministries in High Point and Greensboro Urban Ministry had open beds as of Friday and were welcoming people to those open shelter slots, as well as preparing to take in extra people through the cold storm.

“For cold weather, we can have up to 20 people. But for this weekend, for extenuating circumstances like what we’re expecting, we’re opening our lobby areas so that … people can come in at least they’re out of the weather,” Executive Director at Open Door Ministries Ryan Ross said…
