KERNERSVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A new John Deere factory will bring more than 150 jobs to the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina.
The agricultural equipment company announced on Tuesday that a new $70 million facility is coming to Kernersville to manufacture excavators. The factory will assume production of future generation excavators previously produced in Japan, John Deere officials said.

The announcement comes a month after President Donald Trump announced a$12 billion farm-aid plan, relaxing manufacturing regulations after thestate’s farmers were severely impacted by tariffs he implemented.
