Kickback Jack’s to pay $1.1M+ for refusing to hire men, EEOC rules

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has ruled that Kickback Jack’s restaurants in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia must pay over $1.1 million for a sex discrimination lawsuit, the agency announced Wednesday.

The money would go to male applicants who were not hired or placed in different roles, the EEOC said.

The EEOC filed the lawsuit on Sept. 25, 2024, in a federal court in Greensboro, N.C., against Battleground Restaurants, Inc., and Battleground Restaurant Group, Inc.
