Uncle of slain Greensboro police Sgt. Dale Nix speaks out after guilty plea

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The uncle of slain Greensboro Police Sgt. Dale Nix is speaking out after the man accused of killing his nephew pleaded guilty this week, expressing both outrage over the plea agreement and gratitude for the support his family has received since the shooting more than two years ago.

Skip Nix shared a lengthy message on social media following Friday’s court hearing, reflecting on the death of his nephew and urging the public not to judge the family’s decision to accept a plea deal.

“Twenty-five months ago I received a call from my brother Tommy telling me our nephew had been shot and had died,” Nix wrote. “No family wants to hear a loved one has passed away, especially if they have been murdered.”…
