Dear Dad’s expands to downtown Greensboro amid restaurant closures

GREENSBORO, N.C. — As several longtime downtown Greensboro restaurants have recently closed, one popular diner says it is moving in and trying something new to help draw people back to the area.

Dear Dad’s, a family-friendly diner that opened on Battleground Avenue about a year and a half ago, is planning a second location at 219-A South Elm Street. Owners say the expansion comes after the original location outgrew its space and began seeing frequent long wait times.

“We were looking to open a neighborhood restaurant that had a homey feel,” said Haras Sajjad, a partner at Dear Dad’s. “That’s where the name Dear Dad’s comes from. You’re coming to our house, so we welcome everyone.”…
