18-year-old accused of attempted murder in Liberty; also charged in drug bust

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — An 18-year-old is facing a litany of charges after being accused of attempted murder in one city and being charged after a drug bust by a Piedmont Triad sheriff’s office.

On Jan. 6, 2026, the Liberty Police Department came to the 200 block of West Bower Avenue after getting a report of a gunshot.

Investigators identified the suspect as 18-year-old Jourden Jayce Puckett, of Franklinville.

A warrant for Puckett’s arrest was issued on Tuesday and he is being charged with attempted second-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharge of a firearm into an occupied dwelling, injury to real property and injury to personal property…
