Who cleans up? Thomasville realtor raises concerns after repeated encampments and fire

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — For more than a year, Thomasville Realtor Nathan Hepler says trash and now a fire on a property he is trying to sell have made his job and life more difficult.

The vacant property sits just off Interstate 85. Hepler said homeless encampments periodically pop up there. People leave when asked, he said, but they leave behind a massive amount of trash.

“It’s not a negative look on people that are down and out or had some bad luck. It’s about what they leave behind,” Hepler said…
