GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — If you’re a frequent late-night rider of downtown Greensboro’s e-scooters, you may notice a few changes starting in March.
On Monday, the City of Greensboro announced that Bird would implement new late-night restrictions on its downtown scooters in response to riding and usage patterns identified by Greensboro police.
After 10 p.m., riders will be required to pass a “Safe Start Cognitive test” before they use can any of Bird’s downtown Greensboro e-scooters. Any riders who fail the test will not be able to unlock the device.
Additionally, between the hours of 1 and 2 a.m., e-scooters will automatically slow down from 15 mph to 10 mph. Riders will see a notification in the app, letting them know about the speed change, when they start their trip…
