Guilford County reassesses property values for 2026; here’s what you need to know

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Many Guilford County residents could end up paying more in property taxes after the county’s recent property reappraisal.

Some Guilford County residents have already received notices that their homes and discovered that their properties were reassessed at a higher value. They said their property values skyrocketed anywhere from 40% to 60%. That could mean higher property taxes and more financial strains for some families.

Cherly Albrecht, who owns a home in Oak Ridge and a small ice cream shop, says she recently took out a loan for another home. Now, with the county’s property tax assessment, she is concerned about her property taxes going up, and is planning to cut out any extra spending just to stay afloat.
