Greensboro on track to surpass ‘Road to 10,000’ goal more than 2 years earlier than originally planned

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The City of Greensboro is on pace to exceed its goal of adding 10,000 new housing units within five years — and could reach that milestone more than two years early.

City leaders have been tracking progress through a publicly accessible online dashboard that updates housing growth daily. According to the latest data, 2,792 housing units have been completed or are currently under construction since March 1 of last year.

Developers are building at an average rate of 233 units per month. If that pace continues, Greensboro is projected to hit the 10,000-unit mark by September 2028 — well ahead of the original timeline…
