Man nabbed in Greensboro after multi-county U-Haul chase: Deputies

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Hampton, Virginia man early Tuesday after a high-speed pursuit in a U-Haul box truck ended on the western edge of Greensboro.

Timothy Leroy Durham, 58, faces multiple charges, including felony flee to elude, driving while impaired, simple possession of a Schedule VI drug, and several traffic violations, authorities said.

The pursuit began shortly after 10:20 p.m. Monday when deputies were dispatched to assist the Hillsborough Police Department following a hit-and-run. Deputies caught up to the U-Haul on I-40 near Exit 261, but Durham ignored blue lights and sirens. A North Carolina Highway Patrol trooper joined the chase as the truck headed west…
