HIGH POINT, NC — Smitty and Pearl’s is in construction at 211 Lindsay St, High Point, NC 27262, with co-owner Mark Penley telling Business Debut the team expects to begin soft openings in late summer.
The project is led by Mark Penley, his wife, Courtney Penley, and partners Kathryn and Chris Harrell.
What to Expect
Smitty and Pearl’s is positioned as a restaurant and entertainment destination with three distinct concepts operating inside the same overall complex. Penley described it as an upscale take on the family entertainment center category, with a focus on food, cocktails, and service.
“There’s going to be three different spaces, three experiences, three restaurants, three bars, all operating out of the same kitchen,” Penley told Business Debut.
Menu and Vision
The first concept is Umbo, an oyster-focused seafood restaurant on the first floor to the right. Penley said Umbo will center on an oyster bar with seafood dishes such as crab legs, along with indoor-outdoor dining designed to be used year-round.
Above Umbo on the second floor will be Siren Lounge, a darker, more intimate space designed for cocktail hour, dinner service, and private events. The concept leans into a nautical theme and is positioned for date nights, rehearsal dinners, and corporate gatherings…
