Randolph County drug bust uncovers weapon of mass destruction

ASHEBORO, N.C. — A Randolph County man now faces multiple charged after deputies searched his home in Asheboro on March 3. Deputies say they raided Justin Curtis Pugh’s Rose Avenue residence and seized a trafficking amount of fentanyl and methamphetamine, marijuana, alprazolam and buprenorphine along with five guns.

One of the guns was determined to be a weapon of mass destruction. Deputies say they also found a gun in Pugh’s pocket during his arrest.

He remains in custody at the Randolph County Detention Center. According to court documents, Pugh was denied bond at his first court appearance on March 4…
