Three law enforcement officers have been killed in crashes while on duty in two weeks in North Carolina. Two state troopers and one sheriff’s deputy died in separate crashes since Feb. 22.
Deputy Kaleb Mitchell was killed Saturday morning in a crash, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said, and a suspect was arrested Sunday.
Bryan Castillo, 19, was driving over 100 mph on U.S. 311 before the crash that killed Mitchell, the sheriff’s office said. Castillo faces charges including misdemeanor death by vehicle, reckless driving and speeding, according to court records…
